In the 1980s, MarvinDog Productions made its first dollar selling original paintings and commissioned artwork. Like many small businesses, we thought we could not afford to advertise, nor did we have the knowledge to properly market our company. We relied on luck, happenstance and word-of-mouth. Although somewhat effective, it kept us ranked as "small".
